Hey May!

May was going to be the month when we would open seven days a week. But, as ever, due to some unforeseen staff movement in the kitchen (to put it mildly!), we won’t be able to do it quite as we’d envisaged. But we have a plan!

The restaurant will be open as it has been Wednesday to Saturday for lunch and dinner. Sundays it will be lunch only. But fret not!

As you know, the café is now open seven days a week for breakfast and lunch. The bar likewise is open every day and evening…. so on Sunday and Monday nights, until we can add a dinner service in the restaurant, we are introducing: ‘Terrace sessions’ …in the café/bar and you guessed it, on the terrace on sunny days.

Terrace sessions will be a more low-key night out, tunes will be playing as usual, and the food will be more informal.

We’ll be doing:

* Kenyan curry (chicken or vegetarian) AND

* Our best selling Tempura Hake & Chips (I mean, who doesn’t like fish & chips by the sea!).

Both (£16.50) will be available to EAT IN/OUT or TAKE AWAY between 5 and 8pm Sunday and Monday nights.

Now that’s reflective of course of what has really become our core team of dedicated East Africans. We have four Kenyan female chefs in the kitchen, and another Kenyan team Front of House. And, as a way of acknowledging their incredible contribution to our business and our island, we thought it would be wonderful to also introduce some of their food.

So, although it’s a bit of a twist on what we’d planned, there will be food and drinks served almost every evening, even throughout May! Tuesday nights will be the only night where there will be “drinks only” at The Moorings.

That means our OPENING HOURS will now look like this:

Restaurant:

Wednesday- Saturday: Lunch and Dinner

Sunday: Lunch

Café/bar/terrace:

Monday to Sunday: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner (except Tuesday night, when it’s drinks only!)

Oh, and Oyster Happy Hour between 5 and 6pm now runs seven days a week too!
