Do you do a hotel breakfast seven days a week?
We offer a continental and a la carte breakfast for hotel guests only between 8am and 9am. The café opens to the public at 9am, and breakfast continues to be available to residents and non-residents until 11am.
Why don’t you do parties/events?
We don’t do functions because our focus is our local neighbourhood and our staying guests. We don’t want to shut down and tell our regulars we’re closed for a party every other weekend. By saying no to parties we are saying yes to regulars, and looking after those who look after us.
Can we ask to swap ingredients on the menu for others?
Where we can accommodate a simple substitution we will do, but all substitutions will be at our chef’s discretion. Generally our motto (unless we’re talking about an allergy) is ‘you do like it, you just don’t know it yet’- and that goes for adults and children!
Can we bring a birthday cake?
We offer a selection of deserts which we are more than happy to prepare in a festive fashion, whatever the occasion. We may also be able to make a birthday cake for you (£75), please enquire. When it comes to bringing cake yourself, we are happy for you to bring in a token cake for us to present with coffees, after dessert for you to cut yourselves, at no charge. However, if you wish for your brought in cake to be an alternative to dessert, we will happily serve it with some berries, with a service charge of £6.50 per person.
Do you offer an airport pickup?
We can of course arrange pickup from the airport should you wish. If you do require an airport pickup, please add it to your booking notes.
Do you do room discounts for wedding parties?
If you are considering putting your wedding guests up in The Moorings, we encourage you to contact us directly to discuss the options.
Are you Dog friendly?
As much as we love our four-legged friends we prefer them at home or outside. We don’t welcome dogs in the hotel or the restaurant, out of respect for those who may not be as keen on dogs as you are. Well behaved dogs are welcome on the terrace.
Why are you only open for dinner Wednesday to Saturday?
Like many hospitality venues we have to look after our staff, in order for them to be able to look after you. There is a shortage of staff in hospitality, and in order to give the ones we have enough rest in between shifts, we are focussing our efforts on the busiest days of the week.
